How many constellations do you see here? The Greeks associated Leo with the Nemean lion, the beast killed by Heracles during the first of his twelve labours. Initially considering engravings and starry atlases painted a few centuries ago, I saw the constellation differently. I saw a curved tail where the mane of a lion was.

Here's one of my favorite last illustration - the Constellation Aries. In Greak myth, Aries is identified with the golden ram that rescued Phrixus and took him to Colchis, where he sacrificed the ram to the gods.
