00 Our arrival in Port au Prince. This is my 3rd trip to Haiti, Maria on my right has been here 6 times and John on my left is on his first trip

0 putting the final touches on the pump house building

01 Laying out all the material that we need to begin building the pump

02 We had to roll out over 400 feet of piping for this well, the only way to get to the clean water was to drill into the bedrock and then sleeve the shaft to prevent the contaminated river water from entering

03 Here we are putting the wire spacers on the pump piping, this is important to keep the wires from twisting around when the pump turns on and shuts off

04 Mike and Manu look on as Willyae and I troubleshoot the pump

05 Ha! Ha! Okay, I asked for a torch and they brought me a candle... I can do anything in Christ... Lord, can you hear me HELP

06 Preparing the filtration system was extremely important. This secondary filter would screen out silt and sulfides to give the water a clean, clear appearance and taste

07 Getting people in place. The warehouse in the background is finished except for the roof, we ran out of money for the roof and the UN said we needed sanitary facilities to continue

09 everyone gets involved as we begin to lower the pump into the well... there is a lot of wire and piping to place

11 Willyae and I wiring up the pump, we will have to affix a waterproof sheath to the wiring before submersing it in the well

12 We finall got all the piping in the well, Willyae is sealing off the top of the well while I prepare to finish up the wiring

13 Willyae and I plumb the water delivery piping from the pump to the outside of the pump house

14 getting ready to test the faucet.. you wouldn't think that something as simple as a faucet could bring much change to a community... but that's not true... what we take for granted, is life to many around the earth

15 Success!! We have water! Cooking, Cleaning and Bathing

16 We all gather outside the pumphouse after finishing the installation. There is much work yet to be done but we took a break for a while

20 Christians house in Port au Prince is our base, we travel several hours from here to Cap Haitien, Savon Longue, Ouanaminthe and Labronne on our journeys

A group of children arrive for their morning meal, we can now feed the children twice a day instead of only once.

After a long day's work, nothing quite quenches the thirst like fresh coconut milk. I cut my finger in the process but it was so worth it!

Big bugs on big leaves... these things were huge

Coming in for the afternoon meal, we hope to be able to serve 3 meals a day eventually. God willing, we will

Getting ready to head up to Cap Haitien, these plane rides are quite the thrill ride... not for those with weak stomachs for sure

Hanging out with Christian and Mike on the rooftop

Here we are serving the children their afternoon meal the looks on their faces are so wonderful!

I love to see the smiles on the faces of our children...

John with a group of friends, the children were so mesmerized by his long hair that they put his hair in beads.. it was so funny... I'll have to find that picture

Junie and Jabreil making faces at us... these girls would sing and dance for us while we worked making the day so much better

Moi deux amis vielle Willyae et Manu ....(my two old friends Willyae and Manu) I love these men, the are such an inspiration

My bed for the next two weeks

Our living quarters in Ouanaminthe, all the beds had mosquito netting to protect us from malaria laden mosquitoes

Serving our way to the hearts and minds of Gods beautiful children through simple, practical acts of kindness

Smiling faces are our reward

The aftermath of our coconut milk drinking party

The children are the heart and hope of Haiti, many of them have given their lives to Jesus and have been delivered from the Voodoo witch doctors

The face of the innocent... this is why we do what we do. God's precious children, and they are in our hands

The most common way to get around in Port au Prince is on, what were called, tap taps- they were everywhere

The older children preparing for school. They eat last to make sure that there is enough for the little children

These are rows of cactus that are used as fences to keep unwanted visitors out... they are soooooo sharp!

This became one of our favorite places to hang out in Port au Prince, this is the rooftop of Christians home before the earthquake struck... such a cool breeze would blow through here at night

This group decided to sing for us while we were finishing up for the night.

This is the road through town to the church and warehouse compound

This is the schoolhouse where over 500 young children attend every day
