???????? About locals: one night we were walking in the city center and a really old woman came to us and suddenly started to tell interesting stories of Slovak history and Bratislava itself, an important fact is that she spoke no English so she were speaking Slovak and we were speaking a weird mix of Polish, Russian and Ukrainian languages but we understood each other pretty well anyway ????
This old wooden house is situated almost in the center of Moscow and is a part of "Sokol" village (also known as "Painters' village"). This village was an experimental project of early Soviet architecture. Nowadays it is a reminder of good old times and also is the only ability to feel yourself outside of the city while you're in its center.
Here's the kind of photography I like to do the most (except architecture ????) I'm not sure if y'all are interested to see the pictures like this one so let me know your opinion, have a nice upcoming week !
Life's going forward, never stop thinking positive and exploring the beautiful world which surrounds us!
The building on the right is a presidential palace and on the left there's a one of the most familiar landmark of Kazan - Söyembikä tower also called the Khan's mosque. It is also the one of the most famous leaning towers in Russia, its inclination is estimated at 194 centimeters (76 in).
One more interesting fact about Kazan: Gala Dali, the wife of famous painter Salvador Dali was born in Kazan in 1894 ! #russia #kazan #Казань #kremlin #wall #stone #winter #palace #russia_ww #кремль #Башня #old #igtravel #snow #Россия #tatarstan #vsco #vscocam #instatravel #tower #vscogood #vscotravel #photorussia #Снег #Зима #vscoreal #vscogrid #tbt #Татарстан #tower
With the population of around 1,206 million Kazan is the 6th biggest city in Russia and it's also has a registered brand of "the third capital of Russia" (first two are Moscow and St.Petersburg - "the northern capital"). #russia #kazan #Казань #street #lantern #cars #winter #houses #russia_ww #Улица #Фонарь #old #igtravel #snow #Россия #tatarstan #vsco #vscocam #instatravel #sky #vscogood #vscotravel #photorussia #Снег #Зима #vscoreal #vscogrid #tbt #Татарстан #tower
Hey y'all, here's the last picture from Kazan , next pictures will be from the other beautiful towns (which I currently discover) so stay tuned to get to know what are they ;)
Kaliningrad (formerly Königsberg) is a very special Russian city due to some reasons. Firstly, it is an exclave (doesn't border any other Russian region) and on the other hand until 1945 it was a German city Königsberg, the capital of East Prussia. On the picture there's a cathedral where the famous philosopher Immanuel Kant is buried.
Fishers' market is a few buildings built in German style which show how Königsberg was looking before the war. Unfortunately, the most of the original old buildings in the city center were destroyed during the war and the years of soviet rule. As for me, one of the greatest losses is the Königsberg castle which was heavily damaged during the allies bombings in 1944 and finally destroyed in 1968. Hopefully someday it will be rebuilt and become the pearl of the city again.
Königsberg Nordbanhof (Kaliningrad north station) was built in 1929 and is special for having railroads on two levels: the lower on goes to the main station and the higher one is a dead end. Nowadays it serves the trains which go to the sea coast . Me and my friends took the one of them to look at the sunset on the seaside - y'all will see the pics I took there very soon !
Welcome to Tilsit/Sovetsk ! This small town is famous for being a city where the treaties of Tilsit were signed ! Also it's a place where the famous tilsiter cheese had been producing ! The building on a picture used to be a classic gymnasium before and it still is ???? should I say that we were really fascinated by its monumental beauty ? ???????? #russia #ryssland #germany #tyskland #Sovetsk #Tilsit #gymnasium #eastprussia #history #гимназия #street #winter #brick #россия #old #igtravel #snow #Советск
Old tramcar standing on a central street of the town is a monument to Tilsit tram which was running from 1901 to 1944 serving 4 route. It was also the easternmost tram system in Germany! Nowadays only this monument reminds about the good old days.
One more picture of this capturing cold beauty! ❄️????
????Queen Louise bridge (Königin Luise-brücke) was built in 1907 and nowadays connecting Russian city Sovetsk and Lithuanian town Panemuné which were two parts of the city of Tilsit before. The bridge itself was destroyed in 1944 but restored in 1965 (though there used to be a wooden bridge since 1947). Metal arcs are still missing and waiting to be restored again.
Just old German houses in Polessk (Labiau). This town is not a kind of a tourist one but up there in Kaliningrad region all the towns are interesting to visit since they still don't look "russian", even after the years of soviet/russian rule. Actually it's a bit sad to realize that German people were living in this houses for years before they were forced to leave them, leave their hometown and even a piece of their homeland and possibly never come back ????
This beautiful villa in Tilsit was built in 1887-88 for the local merchant Franz Frank and still known as Fränkische Villa. It's one of the main sights of Tilsit which is nowadays under the danger of destruction.
The way between Tilsit and Labiau was looking really mystic that day ???? Old trees standing along the both sides of the narrow road built a kind of a tunnel and the fog lying over the ground made it look as a film from "silent hill" movie !
Hey y'all and welcome to the new city I've visited: Tula ! It is one of the oldest Russian cities since it was founded in 1146 which makes it 1 year older than Moscow. Nowadays it's relatively small city 180 km away from Moscow. On a picture y'all can see a part of the Tula Kremlin's wall and also one of its towers.
Tula is an industrial town specialized on metallurgy, machinery and especially military-industrial complex. Industrial landscape on the picture shows a few of numerous weapon factories of the city ????
Tula weapon museum is made in a shape of typical ancient Russian helmet and provides a very interesting exhibition of weapons from all over the world and through all the history: from the ancient times to the modern ones ! The Museum is very interactive and stuffed with modern features which make exhibition much more interesting and clear for everyone. Must visit! ????????????????????????
Small Russian cities like Tula have their own charm of the old houses and streets. They show how people were living a century ago. Of course horses were replaced by cars, shops' adverts became more modern, people dress in other way but the old buildings still stand on their places like the silent witnesses of history.
Since I've run out of new pictures I decided to show you a few old pics which have been taken by me long time ago when no one had Instagram (bet y'all remember those times ????) This picture is from sunny Moscow (Dear summer, come here as fast as it's possible, please !) and depicts why it's often called a "the golden dome city"
Hey everyone ! Finally I'm back again and get some new pictures from a new city to show y'all! Rostov-on-Don is the biggest city in the russian south, also known as the southern capital of Russia. But I've been lucky enough to see the whole other picture of the city: covered with snow which made it look different from what everyone is used to see! ❄️ On the picture there's is a building of State Bank of the Russian Empire, 1915.
Rostov is a city of architectural contrasts, here all the styles are mixed and stand together in a row: modern buildings, the ones from the mid-20th century and of course the small old houses ^__^
Embarkment of Don is a perfect place where you may peacefully walk enjoying the fresh warm wind blowing into your face and an amazing view! The sculpture on a photo depicts a rostov-girl and the building in the center is a Rostov river port.
Siverskyi Donets or just Donets is the fourth biggest river in Ukraine but it also flows through Belgorod and Rostov oblast in Russia. But for me it's not just a river - my ancestors come from the places nearby the river, there my grandfrandfather and his family were fishing and swimming, there my relatives currently live, there I was swimming as a child. P.s. I guess it's the last pic of my Rostov-trip, I gonna visit two new regions during the next two weeks so stay tuned ! Have a great weekend everyone
Ryazan Kremlin fascinates by its monumentality - for example the bell tower is 83m high and still is the one of the highest building in a whole Ryazan region even though it was built in the 19th century!
